Wyldwood was formed in July 2014 with the idea that a group of young amateur actors could come together to create a performance at a professional standard...
Wyldwood Theatre Company first came into the light when three young performers, in their final years of sixth form, boldly came up with the idea for an original and exciting piece of theatre, involving inspiration from several poems by the esteemed Christina Rossetti. After weeks of writing and planning, this idea eventually stemmed into "The Blood Between Us", a thrilling and emotional journey, following three girls in a journey of love, loss and an incurable desire for freedom.
"The Blood Between Us" was performed at the Kirkgate Centre, Cockermouth in February 2015, to great success and very supportive reviews. Kindly, Times & Star wrote an article promoting our performance, which greatly helped us gather a larger audience and brought our performance into the light.

Since then, we have performed seven more productions to similar successes and the cast has grown and developed greatly, with many of our older members going off to university and younger actors joining too!

The company is made up of young performers ranging from ages 13-28, mostly friends of the founders and/or from local theatre groups. Wyldwood also encourages its cast to work not just on the stage, but behind the scenes as well, in order to give everyone the best experience with theatre and to see the workings of the production and planning side of a play.
Wyldwood fully intend to continue creating further theatrical pieces and hope to build up to a larger following, becoming as successful as we possibly can.
